“Decoding Design” Dialog with Three Great Designers at the Ford Motor Company
speeches • June 2014
In June 2014 I was invited to serve as the moderator and host of a panel discussion at the Ford Motor Company’s design center in Dearborn, Michigan. I was joined by three gifted designers at the peak of their craft: Moray Callum, Ford’s VP of Design, Gadi Amit of New Deal Design who designed the Lytro camera, the Fitbit wearable fitness tracker, and the Project Ara modular smart phone; and Jane McGonigal, the game designer and author of the bestselling book “Reality is Broken”. It was a lively discussion.
I was particularly interested in the concept of designing experiences that span both the real tangible world and the digital environment.
